Having an installation kit that matches your gutter will look more like an extension of your gutter and it might blend in a bit more. However, in some cases matching the installation kit to your rain chain may be the better choice.
Gutters come in a wide variety of colors, some are even painted custom colors. For this reason, we see many of our customers choosing to match their installation kit to the rain chain rather than the gutters. No worries if you have gutters that are a unique color, because the black, bronze, and white powder-coating on the installation kits we offer matches the powder-coating on the rain chains perfectly! The unfinished aluminum and copper will also match the rain chains that we offer (keep in mind copper will patina).
All that being said, it still comes down to personal preference on which route you’d prefer to take. Coordinating your rain chain / installation kit with the accents on your home is always a good idea. If you prefer not to match your gutter system, look around for other hardware to coordinate with. For example, the finish of your house numbers, door handles, exterior lights, etc. might help make your decision. If you love the look of natural copper, that's always a good choice that will stand the test of time.
Rain chains are functional and architectural elements on a building. They could provide the perfect finishing touch or eye-catching accent for your home. The key to achieving a beautiful aesthetic is choosing a quality rain chain that fits with your home, your climate, and is installed properly.
