Since cup style rain chains are generally larger than link style chains, they will sway in the wind a little more. As long as your chain is properly secured this will not be an issue for most homes. These chains generally have lower waterflow indexes due to their design, usually around 1-3. If you live in an area with heavy rainfall and you're worried about water splashing off your rain chain, we suggest considering a cup style. However, in most cases splashing from these chains will not cause any damage to your home or it’s foundation providing your landscaping is properly graded. However, we do highly recommend using an installation kit or a link chain reducer with link style rain chains.
