More Product Information:

The Honeysuckle Rain Chain has tapered cups in the shape of a long honeysuckle flowers! This beautiful design can handle a variety of water flow conditions. Available in pure unfinished copper, unfinished aluminum, or aluminum powder-coated in our exclusive Bronze color. The copper will age beautifully over time. The bronze powder-coat will remain a dark brown color.

To prevent damage in transit and reduce packaging volume, the upper wires are shipped separately from the cups, so some assembly is required. Each rain chain comes with a matching v-hook. The v-hook sits inside the gutter opening to hold the rain chain in place.

Better Choice for Windy Corner

We have now installed three different models of Nutshell rain chain: double loops, medium square cups, and honeysuckle. Of the three, honeysuckle appears to be the most resilient in an exposed area -- it offers less wind resistance than square cups while channeling water more effectively than double loops. Wind resistance turned out to be a much bigger problem for us than we'd originally anticipated. First, if the wind is going to throw the chain around, you have to tether it to the ground much more aggressively. Second, the connection points between cups have to be more flexible/resilient, otherwise you have the chain coming apart under the relentless strain. (We belatedly realized that the wind blows most days of the year, whether or not it is raining.)

Overall, we are very pleased with our rain chains (and love Nutshell's extraordinary customer service) -- but do consider a chain's mechanics, in the context of where it will hang, in addition to its aesthetics.

Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you have found a rain chain that works well for you! Enjoy:)
